Profile

Sanggar Seni Sekar Jagad

It is a cultural nonprofit organization founded in 2005 by Joko Ngadimin, focusing to preserve and develop Javanese intangible heritage such as playing gamelan, lesung and kenthongan music, ketoprak, Javanese chant. It is situated at Kotakan village, Polokarto subdistrict, Sukoharjo Regency.  Mostly the members of this organization are the Kotakan villagers and some people surrounding.

Vision

Towards the creative and innovative  society to respond local-global dialectic.

Mission

  1. To support the growing creative villagers to care  and love their own local genius of living cultural heritage.
  2. To grow villagers collective awareness to appreciate and love their local history.

Activities
Playing gamelan and kenthongan  music, ketoprak, and Javanese chant.
